Hank Lauricella, College Football Hall of Fame Class of 1981

Francis “Hank” Lauricella was no one trick pony. After leading his high school squad to a state championship, Hank ran, passed, and punted for the University of Tennessee, and vaulted himself into rarified air. He would help lead Tennessee to National Championships in 19850 and 1951, while also finishing as the Heisman runner-up after the 1951 season, though neither team ended with a perfect season as the 1950 squad lost an early contest and the ‘51 team fell flat to the Terrapins in their bowl game. Lauricella was a unanimous First Team All-American and the SEC MVP his last year with the Vols.
