Dylan Sampson ran for 141 yards and two touchdowns to lead number seven TN to 28-18 victory over Kentucky Saturday evening.

 

Tight end Miles Kitzman caught six passes for 97 yards and a touchdown. The Vols are now 7 and  1 overall, 4 and 1 in the SEC.

They have won their 3rd straight, and keeping their college football playoff hopes alive.

 

It was never pretty on style of points wise, but a big W for the volunteers. We don’t take any win for granted.  Quoted Tennessee coach Josh Heupel, every week is its own season, you have to play smart football and tie it all together.

 

Kentucky scored first with 5:28 to go in the 1st quarter on a 6 play 75 yard drive, that only took 2:27. Josh Kattus scored on a 27 yard pass reception from Brock Vandergriff,  Alex Raynor kick was good! Kentucky leads Tennessee 7-0

 

Tennessee scored with 4:45 to go on the first half on a Peyton Lewis 1 yard run, Gilbert extra point was good.

Gilbert had a rough day attempting field Goals missing 3 in the first half.

 

Kentucky then scored with 30 seconds to go in the first half on a 32 yard field, it’s the 4th straight game that TN trailed at halftime.

The TN Vols scored with 8:28 to go in the 3rd Q on a Dylan Sampson 7 yard run. Gilbert’s extra point was good.
